I think Detroit should be bombed with the biggest nuke we've got, then bury everything that's not atomized and plant the land with corn (for ethanol, of course; it might be a few years before it's safe for humans or animals).

In my Old Hometown(110 miles east of detroit) they are doing about the same thing, auctioning off some homes dirt cheap just to get someone in them and rehab them and pay taxes. With these prices, its pretty tempting.
