Probably no more incendiary subject on earth. Worse than politics, the economy, gay rights, etc........but if were gonna get into it, then lets do it.....How many of u really know the roots of the modern state of Israel? How many of u understand that only about 10% of the Jewish population have semitic roots. Who runs the state of modern Israel? I tell u, its certainly not the semitic Jews. They are the ones doing the dirty work, the jobs that the European causasian jews dont want to do. An American Jewish professor from Colombia University, (I believe) wrote a well researched article about who theze people are (his own) and what their origins are. And believe me, they are not in Israel......The modern state of Israel is the third largest arms producer in the world, and nuclear armed to the teeth. And Golda Meir, some years ago,was quoted as saying, "We would sacrifice the entire world to save Israel"......And this is how they THINK! How many of u know about the U.S.S. Liberty attack in 1967? A blatant, merciless attack on an American communications ship that almost succeeded. Kept quiet for so many years, and now just finally getting the attention it deserves. They really believe they pull the strings on American govt. (and maybe they do). But personally, acknowledging the educated and secular community of Israel and their fair mindedness, they are not the ones running the show. And the Zionists who are running the show will stop at nothing to achieve their single minded objective. Will I be going to any Christians United for Israel meetings? I think not.......enuff already!

"Your Brits really are among the most anti-semetic countires in the world"

A stupid comment. Graceless and childish. "UK vs. Israel"...good Christ, how old are you?

Three things:

a. I'm probably one of the most determined and long-suffering opponents of Jew-baiting, Holocaust denial and irrational anti-Israeli sentiment on this site.
b. I'm British
c. My views are typical of the ordinary, quietly conservative majority of my country.

From the PBH Rules:

"Hate speech.
Don't post hate speech or content that is derogatory against certain groups of people. This doesn't mean you can't discuss things, just don't post things that are overly generalizing and hateful or sexist.

Actions:

We will delete the content.
For repeate offenders, we may delete their account."

On Holocaust denial:
"...such writings are not only a perverse form of anti-semitism but also an aggression against the dead, their families, the survivors and society at large." Roger Errera

So why, therefore, do claims that the systematic murder of six million innocents never happened or indeed calls to "fire up the ovens again", don't get so much as a rueful 'tut tut'?

Any ideas anyone?

There is plenty of bashing of women as well as a variety of ethnic groups. Jews are not the only ones that get ripped on.

Personally, I get a kick out of Christians standing up for the Jews. No offense to either group, but aren't many Christians supportive of the nation of Israel because they think that it is a sign of End Times? "Pack as many Jews as possible into Israel. Inspire the Second Coming. Take the Believers to Heaven and a painful Sayonara for everyone else." A bit disturbing if you ask me. I know not all Christians feel this way; however, I have heard it several times.

Louche bar room comments about women aren't the same as calling for a race to be exterminated.

When said 'sexist' comments are made, moderation swings into immediate action in a welter of righteous ire. Not so when criminal antisemitic slurs are made.

sometimes i agree with the wife of previous canadian pm....can't remember his/her name, but she said, 'if women ran the affairs of the world, war would come to a screeching halt and folks would concentrate on REAL issues'. well put.

the commenter above said it well....it's not jewish folks creating the ongoing problem...it's zionists. i'm neutral in this whole dog fight and have spent many wonderful times in israel...it's agreat respite if you're working in the middle east to go where things are pretty much 'westernized' and peaceful...especially after long periods in islamic countries in the mid east and africa.

if you were to ask the women/mothers/grandmothers/daughters of what ever religious persuasion in israel about all this wasteful hatred and bloodshed, they're unanamously cry out....ENOUGH ALREADY! we just want to raise our children, not bury them. it's almost oxymoronic for the three faiths to take sides...........we're one family. might as well go kill your father and brothers. sound cool? it must, we been doin it for a long, long time. pity

I think there are obvious issues that are just on both sides of the Arab / Israeli conflict. There is never a 100% right or wrong when it comes to politics and religion simple as that.

However, I do know that Isreali's and its American, UK , European supporters in general have a knee jerk reaction of calling anyone who question their power as an Anti-Semite. Do you all really think of Isreal as the victim in every single situation? Have you ever opened your eyes and realized the problems that they've caused to their neighbors as well? They lack of respect for the USA who funds their army? The continued expansion into new territories despite warnings and dissaproval from pretty much every other country in the world?

I think we all understand the importance of keeping Isreal safe and coming to their aid when needed..however you have to be fair and call it like you see it. Isreal cannot be left free to act with impunity using the US as the looming bully that has their back regardless of what they do. They simply must be held to the rules and regulations of all other nations, especially in such a volitile area of the world. Imagine what kind of shit would hit the fan if any other nation on this planet just started to move into its neighbors territory..not just once, but again and again...do you think anyone would just accept it? Why is this different for Isreal?

Antisemitism is very fashionable in Britain's liberal/progressive elites. But those anti-nation, anti-family, anti-liberty claques are not representative of the ordinary British people.

And, of course, an awful lot of Muslims domiciled here salivate at the thought of a re-run of the Holocaust. But I don't consider them British.

They're long threads, so I'll just serve up a few of the choicer offerings that can be found therein:

How about:

"May be the Germans were right all along ,
May be its time to light the ovens back up ."

Or perhaps this gem from the Trustee Board:

"kalder says..........."The Holocaust was the attempt to systematically annihilate a race on an industial scale."

haha, can you show us a document, an order, a speech, anything at all that would back up that statement. deportation yes, annihilation, no........jews were deported 38 times from european countries, some say 45. it was the precision of allied bombing that cutoff the food supplies to the camps. why did they put them in camps if their objective was to annhilate and not just kill them outright?"

Perhaps not antisemitic by PBH standards. But considered egregiously so by most European legal systems.

Or anyone who takes a dim view of thugs chucking babies onto bonfires.

And I'm emotionally wedded to the concept of free speech.

However, I've thought it odd that 'generalising about women' or posting up photos of scantily clad girls have been considered violations of the rules, whereas antisemitic abuse (apparently) hasn't.

Whey are there not monuments to all the other countless numbers of Leftists, Russians, Gypsies, Gays and the sickly that fell under Hitler ? What about the people who fell under Stalin? Why is it that every time I turn on the TV there is a program about the holocaust and the Jews? If I never picked up a book in my life (like the sad majority of todays younger population) I could easily assume the holocaust and WWII was entirely about the Jews only. Nevermind invading and bombing other countries. Nevermind Russias own anti Jewish sentiments long before WWII...its all about Germany and the Jews and there is simply way more to the story than that.

So here you go again with your shell game- throwing out enough massacres and outrages in a vain attempt to obscure and diminish the reality of the Shoah.

Yes, I know a reasonable amount about the Ustasi. And their death camps: "Jasenovac i Gradiška Stara" and so on. So Ante Pavelić vied with Hitler to see who could be the worst assassin of innocents- How does that make the Holocaust disappear?

for those of you who lost family, friends and cultural brethren, i think i speak for everyone when i mourn your losses. i can't imagine anyone of sound mind denying these atrocities, as it's tough to lie to one's self. but to many, the issues on one front were closer to home than those on other fronts. it's natural. if someone murders my family and then murders the family next door, with all due respect, i'm pretty certain i'm gonna be crying for mine.

what we really need to do is focus our attention on the tragedies that are occuring today, now. where real people are being hacked to death, starved, raped, dismembered and tortured in every way possible.................what's being done about it? sudan, chad, zimbabwe, nigeria, ethiopia, uganda, and even south africa. millions of people are dying, the body count rises daily/hourly. and we sit....all of us around the world...in our safety and comfort while it's going on. we're witnessing the very same horrors that filled the last century, and maybe our children and grandchildren will be witnesses, after the fact of what's going on right now.

how anyof us and i seriously include myself, grew up starry eyed, with bright hopes for the/a furture, excapes me.

Mongo I agree with some of what you are saying here..but have a slightly differen outlook.

I agree that Chavez and Adhimijad (sp?) are dangerous men. Period. Also I don't think anyone should deny the murders of innocent people.

Like you mentioned with the Armenians and Turks. Why did we not go in to the aid of the Armenian people? Armenians systematically killed and we did nothing. Same with Russia..if it were about saving lives why did we not stop Stalin when he slaughtered multiple times the people Hitler did? No matter what the name is...nazi, communist, whatever, those are just names but innocent people being killed is bad regardless of what we call it.

Now leaving WWII and religion aside, you brought up the movie industry, not sure if you agree but its that when big money backs people like Spike Lee and the Micheal Moorers of the world, they are held accountable in my mind. They have an agenda to get out and you know as well as I do, that as sad as it is....tons of people are influenced by these politically skewed movies. It doesn't matter if you and I want to hear them or not. Those are the people voted this last election. Those are the people that will grow up beside our children with thier fawked up one sided leftist views.
