Is The Direct Bus Service from Santa Marta to Maracaibo any good?Safe?and do they help you cross the Border safely?

So I have heard Horror stories about crossing by land from Colombia to Venezuela By land and that border Guards are very corroupt and will try to scam you out of any money you have on you.My question is if You take the Direct Luxury Bus from Santa Marta to Maraicabo is it safer?do they help you with border formalities?(like collecting all passports & getting them stamped) or is there a better safer way of going between Santa Marta to Maracaibo by land?

Thanks

I wouldn't do it. I used to live in MCBO, and I always flew.

But my driver said it was safe. But still, you are exposing yourself to corrupt Venezuelan cops, border guards , and a slight possibility of FARC.

Why the hell do you wanna go there for? IT's BO-RING!
