Nursing kids while traveling

Perceptive travel has a good post about nursing traveling moms:
http://perceptivetravel.com/blog/2008/02/27/a-plea-for-nursing-mothers...

"A letter writer in a non-travel magazine I get has sent out a desperate call for advice. She’s a businesswoman who travels a lot, but who also has toddlers and babies at home. Her problem? She’s devoted to giving her kids breast milk, and is having a hard time finding places in airports where she can use a pump to express milk.

I don’t know how much play this issue gets in other countries, but in America breastfeeding has moved from a silent battle of wills to the forefront of what is idiotically dubbed “The Mommy Wars.” And there’s practically no place it’s more important than while traveling — whether traveling for work or pleasure, a mother’s got to feed her kids."

Have you traveled while nursing, or, while having to extract milk for your kids at home?

At my work we offer breast feeding / baby care centres. Unfortunately for this woman, I don't work at the airport. The last place I would have wanted to feed my baby or pump milk would be an airport washroom! SO GROSS. I think the feeding part is easy enough, I pretty much did it where ever I needed to but I'm stumped as to where you could find a private spot to pump. The only thing that I could think of is calling the Media Relations person prior to a stopover at whatever airport and asking for their suggestion or advice. The last thing they are going to want is a Human Rights issue so they might be able to offer suggestions or provide a spot.

PS: Our baby care centres are as a result of a Human Rights complaint.
