Planning a round the world trip with history journeys

Or as it says in a comment in the above post (and I like that even better): follow the world's great rivers. Nothing like traveling with a theme:

1. The Amazon: Peru, Colombia, Brazil, Bolivia and Venezuela
2. The Ganges: Nepal, India and Bangladesh
3. The Nile: Ethiopia, Sudan, Egypt, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, Burundi, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Eritrea(!) and Kenya
4. The Mississippi: Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi and Louisiana
5. The Mekong: China, Burma, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam
6. The Danube: Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria, Moldova and Ukraine

I've seen the Amazon, the Congo river, the Ganghes and the Mekong so far :)

On my way back to the states and while I was waiting for my flight at the Avianca lobby in Bogotá, I met a young blonde girl; she could have been in the late 20s. I asked where she was heading to and she told me she was going to Peru. So I asked her what are you doing in Colombia and she told she has been in Colombia for one month and a half, or the longest of her journey throughout SA, and with a smile on her face she continued saying that she has been traveling in South America for 5.5 months.
I have never met a girl or even a single human being that has traveled that long! The young and good looking lady was from New Zealand.

That is totally awesome to be able to travel for five and a half months throughout South America.
Go ahead and ask me now, what are my long-term goals for the future? I would tell you I want to travel at least for 5 months as the girl from New Zealand. That’s what I call a true vacation!!
