newbie to PBH comments on Anyone has been in Laos???

Luang Prabang and the surrounding area was really special when we went - but that was about 5 years ago now. The town is eminently walkable, people are terrific and I still remember the procession of monks at dawn collecting offerings from the people. Lots of activities outside of town. I recall there was a waterfall we climbed and the Buddha caves a short way upriver. A couple of companies were starting to offer extended boat trips up the Mekong from LP. We didn't do this when we were there, but I would have loved to. I imagine there's even more of that now. All very affordable.

newbie to PBH comments on Transfer in Bogota from international terminal to national terminal

I have a similar question. We arrive in Bogota at 1:30 on Copa from Panama City (connection from LA) and need to decide whether to take the 3pm AeroRepublica flight to Santa Marta or the 7pm Avianca flight. Colombian travel agent is very concerned about the 3pm connection being too tight and has suggested we do the later Avianca flight. In either case (i) it's a seperate ticket from the Copa flight and (ii) we take a car from Santa Marta to Tayrona once we arrive. I hate to suffer through a 5 1/2 hour wait between flights, but we're going to be 2 adults and 2 young kids and it's going to be near Xmas and I'm worried about getting stuck if we miss the earlier connection (especially with the kids). I'd love to hear what folks think we should do. Thanks
