I just moved to San Miguel de Allende a week ago and a few days ago I met a gay man whose lover was killed from an overdose after he befriended a supposedly gay Mexican man who drugged him and robbed his house and car after he was invited over for dinner. Whether it was on purpose or accidental doesn't matter since it happened in commission of a crime it's murder..He came back to find the body, his house emptied of valuables and his car stolen Well then the surviving gay man contacted a several other people in Mexico who told him of similar robberies in Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta. The description and photo of the man was the same. He's a very slick guy about late 30s who claims to be a businessman and speaks English as well as Spanish of course. He may have stars totooed on his chest. He reported his roommate was street smart so the robber must be good at his deception. Sorry to hear he's not been caught. The San Miguel police don't seem too interested in following up leads. Surprised? And of course it's not been in the papers here.
