I travel as a reward to myself, and I don't travel to the tourist areas, I like to see a nation for what it is, how they really are, how they live. I am also a huge history addict, for me to see what I read about my whole life, is a huge reward for myself.

I actually dedicate myself to putting all of my second cousins through college in Colombia. (I was very fortunate to get full scholarships for having competitive grades and high SAT's, and I understand that my cousins didn't have that opportunity in Colombia.) Right now I am putting 4 second cousins through college, my goal is to eventually put all 28 of them through college. My mother's family is very poor, and I try and help them out as much as I can.

I don't spend my time in hair salons, or getting my nails done. I am a very simple, down to earth girl. I always feel that when it comes to education, travel, and food, you have to invest money in that. No one will ever take my travel experiences away, just like no one will ever take my education away. I can only learn from eductaion and travel, and I feel that is what I am passing to people before I die.
I also know that many people in the U.S., Europe, all over the world are in poverty status, I am not rich...I am just very good with investing my money and how I spend it.

Colombia, and more importantly, Colombians occupy a special place in my heart. I have friends from several different countries and I am completely aware that individuals vary within each country. Rather, every place has nice people, friendly people, humorous people, loving people, evil people, rude people, selfish people, etc. Nevertheless, the Colombians that are a part of my life are simply incredible people, tienen un algo un no sé qué...It is because of a friendship that I forged with a Colombian that I returned to school to better my life. He was like.... Actually, a couple young girls at work have been checking my butt, which I found odd.... especially, since these are those type of quiet girls that never ask anything out of line... But, they asked... "Did you get implants on your butt, that can't be real?"... That made me blush, it was right after a meeting I held in the middle of the floor and wasn't even expecting such a question.. I told them if I was going to pay for something that I would have atleast balanced it out, top and bottom, and not just bottom....

I can return it, but only to exchange it. The problem is many are blurry as a result of transfering from video to DVD, so the new copies will have the same problem probably. I don't like telenovelas either, but I love vallenato music; also, I bought it to share with some friends who have fond memories of the series. Actually, it was a very nice and quiet evening.... She enjoyed her present, so we're actually off to the snow tomorrow! But, she was happily surprised with the chocolate covered strawberries... and I picked up the movie "Ratatouille" and "Break Up"... LOL... And we just enjoyed some Thai Food to go with our evening at home! She was funny, she's like, "wait, I thought we agreed no presents, do I need to run out to the store and buy something"... LOL... I told her know, all things were paid from our joing account... lol...
