Hey Bob,

I have read all the posts and have tried to gather as much info as possible. I have had assistants read over Banco Republica documents and circular 83. Still nothing is ever set up clear enough for all situations. I am sure there are limits to what is written, or what you know and what situations are possible. I tried to state my present my situation as clearly as possible below, if you could find the time it would be of tremendous help. Please respond to my e-mail as my PM is broken. Thanks so much man

Summery

I am buying a house here with my brother and wish to put it and the investment in both our names. With this purchase we both want to receive investor visas. We arrived here 5 months ago on tourist visa, my brother went home for a month, leaving me with one month to go and him with two months to go on our 6 month limit tourist visas. We finally signed the compraventa one month ago, and put down 10% and filled out the form 4. Our second payment due one month after the first was just paid and we again filled out the form 4. Our last and final payment is due a maximum of 2 months from today. The amount of money in the country already is about 150 thousand dollars, enough for only one of us to get an investor visa.

Plans

My plan is to go to Banco Republica of Barrenquilla tomorrow morning and register both payments with the form 11. I then wanted to go to Bogota next Tuesday and visit the MRE with the hope that I could get my Investor visa and my brother could get a temporary visa (as there is only enough investment at this point for one investor visa.) This would work best because he has one extra month before reaching his BanRep 6 month resident status, and we would only need to buy one more plane ticket back to Bogota once the final payment arrives. The final payment is set for a date after both our 6 month period in the country, we can pay it early, but with me only having 25 days left I am worried about having to file the final payment with a form 5.

Questions

What do you think?
Can form 11 be taken care of that quick, and turn around and go to MRE?
Should I be worried about the 6 month issue?
Can I get a sociadad without a visa?
Can I get a visa before the initial 100 g's is invested, the get a cedula then a sociadad then register the money?

Ok, so you don't take PMs, any info on apartments for Nov 21-Dec 6? Prices, locations, rules...as there was really nothing much in the original post?

No matter where you go, the Korean tour bus isn't far behind.

Hi there!

I believe you are Kelvin ... based on your posts etc etc. I was a guest at your hostel in late June 2008, although I did not hang around the house much. Just wanted to say thanks and mention that you assisted my boyfriend and I with some advice when we wanted to go to Santa Rosa de Cabal ... and it was quite wonderful there so thanks for that recommendation and all the help!

I am trying to get back to Colombia for more adventures hopefully more off the beaten track and will be checking your website for some of your fave spots.

Thanks and hope I got the right guy!!

Kim
