| Has traveled in: | On this trip I have travelleved to Perú, styed in Arequipa for 4 months volunteering,m then travelled north, did the Machu Picchu trek(alternative Salkantay, not Inca trail) went through Trujillo, Piales and entered Ecuador through Loja. I visited Cuenca(beautiful place just north of Loja) and saw Quito(bleurgh!) then passed through Otavalo before entering Colombia. In Colombia I have been to the coffee region, Armenia and Salento and briefly passed through Cali before coming to Bogotá where I have been living for 5 months. I went to Barranquilla for carnival and also have visited Cartagena, Santa Marta and the awesome Parque Tayrona. Aside from this trip I have been to New York, Copenhagen, Lisbon, Stockholm, and Germany- to Berlin, Hamburg, Hannover and Hamlin. | |
| Wants to travel to: | I plan to head South, through the Amazon to Bolivia, then on to Argentina, after that, who knows??? | |
| Favourite traveling style: | I always crave what I´m NOT doing! For example, I love doing whatever, whenever, and not knowing what the next day will bring, meeting lots of people, seeing lots of places, but I also love settling down somewhere for a while, half a year or so, really getting used to a place and the people, and developing a sense of community. I am rubbish at budgeting, but having said that, my accommodation and travel is always cheap...all my money goes on beer and food! I have so far avoided taking planes anywhere(except from England initially) and I intend to keep it that way until(if I ever) go back to the UK. | |
| About (hobbies etc...) | I am a fashion designer/pattern cutter by trade, and I guess til now I have been having a break from my career because I didn´t want to settle somewhere long term without ever travelling because I knew whatever I acheived in my career I would resent! Right now, I am teaching English to really small kids, and I would like to start a company in fashion design with indigenous textile methods in South America, although I am not sure where at this point! | |
