Trip - Medellin - Cartagena - El Tutumo - Santa Marta and back (3 days)

Hi,

I am a foreigner in Medellin. Will stay here for a while. In the coming long weekend I would want to visit Cartagena, El Tutumo & Santa Marta.

Can someone help me plan my travel? What will be the cost and the best possible route. I am open to both air and bus travel.

A small problem I have is that I speak very little spanish. If any group of back packers is already planning something similar pls let me know, I would love to join.

Thanks

Don't know much about planning. But 3 days is not that long to do all you want.

In you time frame air travel is the only way unless you want to see the cities from the bus windows. El Tutumo is a tourist trap and not worth the time, IMHO. You would have to fly direct from Medellin to either Cartagena CTG or Santa Marta SMR Not air travel between those two without transiting Bogotá. I fly to Cartagena or Bogotá and spend the three days in one of those.

Trying to do it in three days is a waste of time and moneuy.

agree 3 days for all that /./ Pick either Cartagena or Santa Marta .....check out ADA they sometimes have good prices and they fly from the city airport .....

Smile and everyone will wonder what they are missing.

I read a lot about El Tutumo on internet but a lot of ppl suggests that it's not worth it. Do they have any other place similar?

How much time to travel from Medellin to Monteria? Anything other than Arboletes around Monteria worth visiting?

So guys, neither did I go to Santa Marta nor to Cartagena. Instead, I went to Tolu. Beautiful beaches around Tolu, will write more about them later.
