Tolu has many, many hotels and lots of sun.
Mar Adentro on the sea front turning left from the main plaza is 20,000 pesos, 30,000 con ar.
Tours to the islands 35,000 pesos.
Next to this is Turista at 10,000 pesos a night.
The immediate neighbour to Turista has a nice three room apartment at 50,000 pesos low season, good bargain.
Walking along the sea front is best going west. Going either way you hit fences on the coast but going west there is a road skirting to the right of an airfield that lets you keep going further and its a nice walk.
Very good juices in central square on right side in purpose built round green building. Very friendly and all the frutas.
Tolu, lots of cars at the weekend from Medellin, Bogata, but very quiet during the week. December and January very busy am told.

InCTG says on Sep 7, 2009, 08:05: How are the beaches around Tolu and how is the town? I'd like to stay on the coast for two months. I don't really mind where as long as it's peaceful with nice beaches and I can find a nice place with internet. Living costs, ie food and accommodation are a factor. Does Tolu fit the bill?

InCTG says on Sep 9, 2009, 11:41: Yes, Tolu is really quiet during the week. The immediate beaches aren't that nice, some trash to be found, rather muddy water and pretty narrow, but the town itself isn't bad if you're looking for a tranquil place.
