Plum TV's show Giving featured the work of Shakira and her Barefoot Foundation. Singer-songwriter and international star Shakira founded the Barefoot Foundation to provide education and nutrition to poor and displaced children
The Barefoot Foundation is a Colombian non profit, non governmental organization created by internationally acclaimed artist and humanitarian Shakira. The organization is devoted to finding and providing opportunities for children who are victims of the violence in Colombia. Our goal is to improve the education, nutrition, and the lives of the thousands of boys and girls who have been displaced and who are living under perilous conditions because of the violence in Colombia.

Further you have her dancing with african as well as arabic influenced dance moves.(The backup dancers unfortunately can't emulate this dance moves in the proper cultural context).Her voice is naturally dark, a contralto voice...overall she knows how to use her voice differently, just as she knows how to move differently. Overall she's not your regular pop artist.

Wow, she's awesome and her Portuguese is really fluent (Im amazed!!). It's unbelievable how she can handle to speak so well without having ever lived in any Portuguese-speaking country. Congrats, Shakira, you're also naturally gifted to languages too, that's great!!
