San Andres to Providencia - New Fast Boat Service - 2 hours

FYI a new catamaran service started operating between San Andres & Providencia. The journey takes 2 hours and cost 160,000 pesos return (half the cost of flights). The boat, called El Sensacion, operates on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, but might become more frequent in the future. Departure from San Andres is in the morning between 9 and 10am, and the boat returns to San Andres from Providencia in the afternoon at about 3 or 4pm.

I'm in Providencia and the word is that the service is permanent..... hopefully in the future it will become a daily service, but who can tell? Maybe they'll cancel it in a month but that seems unlikely....

It's a modern 30 seater catarmaran - not a little lancha thankfully!
