Remembrance Sunday

Anyone know if there is an organised service of remembrance either this Sunday or the following Sunday in Bogota?

"PAY ATTENTION! I wonder if that person knows that when we push the FUNNY button, its because we are reading something outrageous, trying to be cynical, derogatory, sarcastic and/or obnoxious!"

Usually the closest Sunday to 11th November.

11th November remembers the ending of the First World War 1914-18, which ended at 11am on the 11th day of the 11th month.

Whilst the date marks the ending of the First World War, it's used to remember all those who have fought in conflicts around the world.

UK Remembrance Sunday

It's not a holiday in the UK so very much doubt it would be a holiday in Colombia! Plus it's on a Sunday :P

So back to the original point, does anyone actually know if there is a Remembrance Sunday Service in Bogota?

November 11th was celebrated as Armistice day in the US until the mid - fifties when congress and the Eisenhower administration changed it to Veterans day to honor the veterans of all wars, not just WWI.
My father used to take us to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier (they later added other unknowns from WWII and Korea) to watch the changing of the Honor Guard at Arlington Cemetery. They also used to have services at the little ampitheatre near the tomb. I believe that Veterans Day is still celebrated on November 11th in the US.
My mother was a Canadian and I believe that they called it Remeberance Day in Canada.

Choose Liberty, there is no such thing as equality.
