I had called the phone co.because i could not pull up the current info on my younger br. phone for thomas line. Now to say at that point his bill was over .$400.00 and this was roaming charges for calls that were made in columbia since 8/01/09. they could see the numbers that were called but we could not on our end and they said that they could not give us no info on numbers. that it will take 72 hrs to get it fixed to where we can see the current activity on the roaming part of the bill. I had told them the situation and even if the phone was in my younger brothers name they said that they could not give out that info.

perfectstranger says on Aug 11, 2009, 09:09: Scanlady, Tom's family, and anyone helping with this. DO NOT RELY ON LOCAL OR STATE DEPARTMENT OFFICIALS in or from US, Panama, or COLOMBIA.... You must track him down yourselves. YOU must go to Panama. YOU must secure video tape from the airports by ANY MEANS. You must launch and investigation yourself. The FBI will jump on board only when they fear looking bad or when the are prosecuting for the federal government. The latter does not apply so you must gain publicity NOW. EXPOSE any all negligence. BE CAREFUL do not travel alone, do not meet with any officials alone. TAPE RECORD EVERYTHING, ALL TRANSMISSIONS AND COMMUNICATIONS. Authorities may be more interested in shutting you up then finding Tom. Find a lawyer who specializes in MISSING PERSONS. YOU MUST GO TO COLOMBIA YOURSELF with an entourage. RAISE MONEY for the legal aspect, raise money, for your expenses in finding Tom, for buying access to tapes and records. Panama was his known location. START THERE. GAIN ACCESS to his emails, to his financial records, to his phone records, DO NOT TAKE NO for an answer do not take "we are taking care of it" for an answer if you truly wish to find Tom. RETRIEVE his baggage from colombia after you go to panama. GO TO THE HOTEL YOURSELF. Phone calls are not confirmation of ANYTHING. You may want to seek confirmation with homeland security they he left the us, if thats where he started. THEY MUST COMPLY if he has been deemed a missing person. ANYONE WHO REFUSES TO COOPERATE IS OBSTRUCTING. YOU MUST GET ON TV IN ALL THREE COUNTRIES. If Tom is hiding himself you must find out why and use that to scare him out of hiding. perfectstranger says on Aug 11, 2009, 11:05: Has Tom been declared a missing person? If he has not, get the declaration now, many international agencies public and private, can't and/or won't be able to do much without that. It is not a crime to hide from family or friends, to abandon luggage, or go "MIA." If he has a criminal history or a history of mental illness THIS WILL ENABLE THE SEARCH. Loved ones often withhold such info for fear that it will embarrass family or hinder the search (the thinking is people will not take them seriously if there are things like that in their past) this is not the case. Some family members simply do not know enough "private" info on the missing person that is when you need to dig for the people who know them best (often those people are not known to family). Chances are he was pert of at least one other on line community.

mark1 says on Aug 13, 2009, 16:02: Scanlady, First, Darloup is absolutly right. This is the first step. I've been to Barranquilla airport 50 times. There is no reason why anyone would leave the claim area without their bags. Even waiting for a ride you would never do that. I don't know who would say this is common. It is not common or normal under any circumstance. There is something wrong right at this point. No one leaves thier bags. This is the place to start your investigation. The people on the plane need to be questioned as to who saw him leave and with who because no one would ever leave without their bags, especially in Colombia, and even more so never in Barranquilla. You would take your bags and wait outside, it is perfectly safe waiting outside the exit. Girls are very approachable in Colombia. I would question if he met a girl on the plane and decided to start his bachelor party right away and then planned to return for his bags, or if someone with bad ties on the plane knew he was traveling without others knowing his plans and decided to seduce or abduct him. Something is wrong at this point. Who were the people on the plane sitting within talking range and who did he associate with at the panama airport? Again, No one leaves the airport without their bags, especially in Colombia.

mark1 says on Aug 13, 2009, 19:04: The bags all have id tags on them, it is a must when you travel. If all bags tags got somehow torn off then the airline would not open the bags looking for a number because just by the airline tags they can see the owners name and they go into a holding area if unclaimed. Plus even if they did open his bags i'm sure her number was not right there on top and listed as the contact person. the bags are registered to his name. they would not easily find her info i'm sure and certainly would not call her. Does the girlfriend have his bags? If so, then she is definitely involved as the airline would never release them to her. She somehow found the blog on his bachelor party that she could not and should not have known about. She would have been jealous for sure about the bachelor party. She wanted money from him. He just got over an economic down turn and didn't have much to give probably but she sees that he is going to party. She then knew he was arriving if she saw the blog. Tom says he stayed with her always but she somehow knew he was staying in Santa Marta because she says she called the hotel there to see if he checked in. They were having problems and he saw that, and, she was asking for money which he wasn't happy about. he may have also been angry, disappointed, and refused to give money. Scanlady, you say; The girlfriend knew nothing about the Santa Marta hotel but found out by accident from the blog. You must know the colombian mind and culture. Although you know he was probably justt looking for a party before marriage. In her mind another decietful male, like every other. She was not told but accidentially finds out he is secretly coming in early to party without her, probably with other women, and even though he was to marry her, refusing to give money, deceiving/lying/greed/cheating her and the family after promising a beautiful life for her. Dream shattered. Look at the most likely. Scanlady, you say;'' His girlfriend did not notify me until that following sunday and as soon as i knew i had notified the US State Department. I had found this forum by mistake when she had emailed me the post about his party in Santa Marta. As I had understood she did not know nothing about Santa Marta neither did I. I do not know how she had come across it,but asking her it is not easy to understand what she is saying''. Dogerdog says;'' Also suspect the novia her familia her amigos, as here love for Gringo dollars is real and love for gringos is very rare )'' davidscl says;'' Who was responsible for picking him up, why were not the authorities at the airport immediately involved. Why did the girl not meet him. Maybe she did not have direct involvement, but others knew he had money and was arriving.'' brians says;''I don't understand the confusion about her not meeting him at the airport. He was having a bachelor party and probably didn't tell her when he was coming. He would just show up at her place after the party in a day or so'' babygirl says;'' I just don't understand how the g/f wasn't at the airport to meet him since they were getting married. I wouldn't trust her at all. Under the circumstances it would be in her best interest to cooperate and she's probably thinking that nobody is going to come down to look in to the situation.'' AFEE says;'' Scanlady....sorry to hear about whats going on but my gut feeling is that the supposed "novia" is behind all this...Constantly asking for money, to the point where your bro thought it strange enough to post it on this website...$400 phone bill to a phone that belonged to your brother...As one poster said, put the novia under survielance and she will help solve whats happened..Sounds too fishy on her part'' scumbuster says;''If he actually arrived in Colombia I find it hard to believe his GF didn’t see him. It is commonplace for your GF and usually half of the extended family to congregate at the airport. Especially if there was a planned wedding. It doesn’t wash the GF didn’t see him if he in fact arrived. She would have been at the airport waiting.'' Paisa says;'' Is his girlfriend being cooperative? Is she in great emotional distress? Is she being helpful? Has she made contact with him personally in Colombia.. Dont loose her.. she might be your only link to solving the case...'' And TOM SAYS;''me STUPID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
