How do the majority of Colombians feel about Pablo Escobar?

Yes Kat, he was interviewed on a Colombian TV channel this weekend. Poor guy is certainly carrying some baggage and at the end of the day, we do not choose our parents in most philosophies anyway.
Good for him that he is trying to re-invent himself and do a real job.

I feel somewhat bad for his son, he was born into that evil life, but I can't think he must be an angel. I don't know enough. Victoria Pablo's wife, she was an adult, and she raised her children with her morals, so.... "de tal palo tal astilla"

Vive la vida y deja vivir!.

Both the wife and the son knew exactly what that AH was up to. They should be whacked as well.

Hilarious that you all think PE personally was responsible for Colombias problems. A bad man, no doubt but you don't think he's a bit of an Osama type figuredhead where it's easy to blame all and everything on one guy while everyone else culpable ducks the flak?

Lots of his cohorts got whacked as well....by LosPepes, infighting, etc..

If anyone here is looking to give their sympathy to, give it to the children in Colombia who have stepped on land mines and survived. Fuck the Escobars.

I think it's interesting when I lived in Colombia many people defended his legacy. I notice in general the human psyche admires someone powerful and influential, even if they are evil, that is why serial killers/hitler both get some type of weird interest/respect/fear.

Yeah, poor kid, must feel terrible about what pops did (you know, like killing thousands of innocent people, and other "admirable" stuff like that, ardhvc), but not feeling bad enough to NOT enjoy what's left of the old man's money.

Anyone in Colombia that thinks P E was a good person, a Robin Hood, had to be so deprived and so uneducated, and poor ( not their fault) They did not know what this criminal was really doing. Or you have the sicarios and mafiosos working for him, for "el jefe". They loved him.
His son should create a fund for all the children and widows that lost their love ones. I am sure he has plenty of $$$.

Vive la vida y deja vivir!.

Yes, but, there are people in Envigado who still revere him. Just look at films of his funeral. There are some who think he was Robin Hood because he built a couple of soccer fields and gave money to the poor. Incredible naivete.

Miguel_Clavo says on Nov 4, 2009, 11:17:

They dont revere him, just miss his donations to them and their families immensely. They obviously benefitted from him financially, and wish it was just like old times.

That statement doesn't make any sense. How would looking at film of his funeral, which occurred 16 years ago, prove anything in the present? All it shows, is that those that attended the funeral at that time revered him, missed his money, where curious, etc........

Billy, what part of my statement doesn't make any sense? Do you disagree that there are still people here that revere him?

billyb says on Nov 6, 2009, 07:48:

CST, the part that doesn't make sense to me is how looking at films of his funeral (which was 16 years ago) would in any way show how much he IS revered today (by using the word IS you are referring to the present, are you not)?
