Job Market Colombia/Bogota

Hi there...

Not sure what the job market is like in Bogota or how you network to find a decent job.. Can anyone recommend a recruitment firm that targets executive positions in marketing, merchandise or buying ? Or a web site that lists the available jobs?

Thanks

I have no experience looking for the type of position you're talking about, but...google la guia for an initial look at job classifieds. also, this website http://www.computrabajo.com.co/ seems to be a major colombian jobs website.

if you want a decent job, run for congress. I think they make around 13 million/month plus benefits.

Just wondering, what is your spanish level Sergio? Fluent?
I will be looking for a job in less than a year and would like to know how the job market is there too.
Although my field is totally different (IT)

JChrisusa, if you do IT work, why not just do work remotely? use a site like odesk.com to find work.

They said I couldn't play football I was too small / They say I couldn't play basketball I wasn't tall / They say I couldn't play baseball at all / And now everyday of my life I ball.

The job market here is like everywhere else right now, it sucks!

The best thing to do is come down here and figure it out one piece at a time. They don't hand out jobs like candy here just because you are foreign. It's not easy, but then I assume you are leaving your home country for a reason, so you've got to keep these things in perspective. And make sure that Spanish is tight.

Peoples chance of getting a job here that pays more than minimum wage in this market is about equal to a snowballs chance in hell, even if you are 100% fluent, no matter what you do, and how much experience,

Better to open a business and lose all your money.

look into interpreting/translating then; I can't give you many tips on getting into it but there seems to be a bit of a market and the pay is quite decent
