Now it's the High Peace Commissioner, Mr. Luis C. Restrepo, who is asking for explanations from Carlos Gaviria (head of PDA) regarding an article that was transcribed in Anncol. I guess it was his turn to play dumb. Who's next?

It simply points out that Gaviria supports the notion of political crimes (sedition, insurrection, rebelion) as a separate category in the penal code, and points out its contradictory use by the government when applied to paracos. The commissioner, in an act of deep intellectual dishonesty or even deeper idiocy, considers that Gaviria's opinion justifies the insurgency, and that he should explain (a) not only why he supports the insurgency but also (b) why is Anncol publishing his opinion and (c) what are his links with FARC.
Needless to say, Gaviria's opinion doesn't justify shit. The recognition that certain crimes are political in nature is recognized by many countries, Colombia included: He is defending something that IS THE LAW as of now. That Anncol copied-and-pasted his opinion is something that Anncol has to explain, not him. Or is Uribe explaining why his interviews are transcribed in the AUC's page? And what makes the comissioner think that Gaviria has any fucking links with FARC?? Then, I guess, we would have to investigate what are the comissioner's links with the paracos!
Shit, this fucking government can't lose one election without whining and making stupid accusations.

Because it's so obvious what he is saying, that for someone from such an important post to not get it, well, its quite embarrasing... Nato (='.'=) 0 funny, 0 helpful. |
