I'm looking through the work visa requirements and it mentions i need a police report from my home country (the states), but i read in a recent post that the consulate lady didn't ask for it. Does anyone know if it is still required? If so can it be faxed, or do they need originals? thanks guys.

CrazyGringo says on Aug 4, 2009, 12:48: yes, it is requierd still. I just received my work visa 3 weeks ago and i had to have a copy of my police report translated into spanish and notarized. just a note: i had one of my colombian friends translate it for me and i typed it up in spanish and had it notarized. you do not need to go to one of those fancy, legal people to have it translated. CrazyGringo says on Aug 4, 2009, 15:34: all you have to do is go to the local police station and tell them you need a copy of your police report. it is only one page and simply says if you were arrested or not. that was the easy part. the hard part was getting it translated into spanish. it is required for your work visa. corporalgator says on Aug 5, 2009, 09:04: You don't need the police background if you have a Temporal Conyuge (spouse) visa and are changing your profession from house husband to whatever in Bogota at the MRE. I guess they apparently figure since you married one of them and are living here that you can't be all that bad.
