Do you think Ecuador might be feasibly classified as a state sponsor of terrorism?

If the government harbors terrorists then the country is a terrorist state and should be labeled as such with all the sanctions dictated by the international community.

Yes, the government of Ecuador is a state sponsor of terrorism, not the population. I hate for sanctions to hit the people, especially basics like food and such, so hopefully sanctions can be put on just the government - maybe kick out some embassies and send those folks back home. I don't exactly know. But Chavez still has money, there's alot of money to be made in drug running. You know he's involved and getting a kick back - he doesn't care what part of his country it goes through, or how his own people are affected. Both guys are good for nothings.

Loyal to both.

azunoman, yes they will sponsor you as long as you have $$$... Unfortunatelly the governents in latin america is composed of protitutes who are there to serve their own interests... it is like a sale at an option... offer the right prize and that is all... Estamos llenos de rameras and nuestra politica. It is the one thing we asimilated well from our conquistadores.

I like the reply comments to your blog. I guess it is you on thorntree saying that "ethical" travellers should visit everywhere else but not Ecuador because of your carefully thought out conclusions. Anyway I have said here what I think is important to the issue
