Dancing displays

Some Colombian friends of mine living in Aachen, Germany get together to practice folk dances and then make their costumes and put on shows for fellow Colombians. This is all amateur but of a high standard.

I'm wondering whether the same thing happens in London, are there any shows I could go to? Also out of interest what about Miami or anywhere else?
