CITIBANKS MEDELLIN CASH FRIENDLY ATMS

Just want people like me who have to pay $5 a transaction fee for a foreign ATM to know that Citibank ATMs in Medellin allow you to take the 1,000.000 peso daily limit out in one transaction. I generally use my prepaid credit card account which gives me 2,000.000 peso per transaction at Citibank but I was curious so today at Citibank San Diego I used my Debit Card and changed the requested amount to 1 mil and it gave it all to me in one transaction. For shits and giggles I tried a second 500,000 transaction and it was blocked which has always happened on every ATM in Colombia ( I am limited to 1,000.000 peso per day which usually has to be on every other banks ATM 3 transactions )

I know we have touched on this many times, but I feel it is such a valuable issue to those of us that pay a foreign ATM fee to our US banks.

Where did you buy that prepaid credit card?

I used to take out 1.2 million a shot a citibank.. before they started hitting me with the $5 and the 2% Never needed more than that at one time and that would last me quite a while UNLESS the dollar started to take a major shit then I would go back the following day.

You do not want it. It is an offshore card out of cypress and there are some loading features that used to be very helpful. The associated fees would be prohibitive for the average person without offshore needs.

My non Citibank debit card has not let me get more than 1 million per day from any Colombian banks ATM. Citibank does not hit me with any fees for my non citibank debit card, but my bank does hit me with $5 every transaction.

I can get 2,000,000 at Citibank a day.....but half the time they run out of 50,000 notes..so they limit you to 800,000 in 20,000 notes.

Not half of the time in my experience but it does happen to me and I have subsequently gone to another of the 5 or so ATMs and found the one that still had the money!

It still spits out more cash then any other Colombian banks atm as far as I know.
