In the Bradt guidebook I read,...
If you want to go where the locals party head to an area known as La Avenida de la Rumba near Castellano. A taxi costs 4,000 peso (I guess 5,000 now considering date of the book if info is correct)
So equipped with this info I head to the taxis of Plaza los duces, Cartagena.
First taxista, "err..Avenida de la Rumba???...Chicas?"
Second taxista, " err... Calle Arsenal... (me) no donde mucho colombianos va!"
Third taxista, "err Plaza los duces!."
Fourth taxista, "err..(con mucho tiempo) si, 16,000 pesos..."
So I gave up on Avenida de la Rumba, went to Tu Candela, squeezed up to the bar by two pros with huge implants, ordered a rum, lady started preparing three drinks! Opa! Told them just one drink (8,000 fokkin pesos). Left, walked round to calle Arsenal, my heart was not in it. Went to sleep.
So Calle de la Rumba. Where is it? Is it? Whats it like?
Muchas gracias

"this may seem a strange post but it is not...when in colombia men need to be aware that colombia women may try to be seductive and entice a travelling gringo to have sex with them..to be forewarned is to be forearmed..." -- pow wow 0 funny, 1 helpful. |
