tropicalshirt says on Dec 31, 2008, 15:11: Monpirri, Santiago is good, maybe a good place to live. I got there on a Sunday with no local money and everywhere shut. The water fountain in the central plaza was a godsend! Struck me as that sort of place, i.e. place you can drink from the water fountain. Very orderly for a latin american country. Would like to go back too, trouble is you go south and its a long way to go north, and vicea versa. I went north, would love to go south for the Carretera Austral. Theres a lot about living there on escapeartist.

tropicalshirt says on Jan 12, 2009, 14:07: Monpirri, sure understand what your saying. The type of Brazilian music popular for so long in Europe (bossa crossover electronica etc) etc is not always at all popular in Brazil where its pogode, frevo, forro, samba, mpb, etc. Sometimes it goes the other way, i.e. drum and bass craze in Rio etc.
