People won't pay for you - doesn't matter the quality. I went to all the big schools and had high-end clients. Very difficult for them to pay on time, if at all. Cancelling always happens - if you charge them for it, they get pissed and never come back again. I even taught the high levels in GranColombia - the administratos mind you, most would show up late, if at all, they wouldn't buy their own textbooks (made fotocopies even though I had to enforce their rules in other classes!) and finally just dropped out all together (forget about ever doing homework). I also taught at Gimnasio Ingles. I didn't have it soooo bad their but it was a nightmare for other gringos. Most that came never finished out their contracts, just skipped town.

At first read I thought you were Giovanni "El Gringo" Hernandez. Cool. Lemme ask you, were you ever in the press in the US? Reason I ask is because neither was I, but have been in the press... 4(?) times while in Colombia. Here in NY, it's "just another face". It's kind of like how gringos are much better looking in Colombia.

When I lived there the value I felt about my wife an our relationship was just as it is now or was before. OK, probably more so now. I honestly don't think marraige is looked on as being all that important as a whole in Colombia as compared to other parts though. But every couple is different in all parts.

TOOT seemed to have spiked to about .25 due to Tuesday's financial records thingy that was good for them. But after a while, it dropped to the price it was before more or less. I think this goes along with Ma's stampede thing. "Hey! good news! Buy!" - which would be the right time to sell. Now that there's not much going on, I'd say is the time to buy. but I'm no pro - would like to have a bunch of extra cash though....

I had a feeling goig was going to go up today, so set my order last night at .008. I was surprised it went way higher. Now I have a bid in for .0074, maybe too low. But that's (what I believe) doing what Ma says by not price chasing. I'm waiting for people in the .008 range to worry for some reason and start to sell. I don't think, or actually hope not, that any of them went in to this just for the publicity, rather thinking they could make a difference. johnn 2009 has a goood poing about the Estefans. For a lot of latin singing artists, if they call, you do what they ask. They run (or at least used to) many carreers. From what I remember Maná was the only band to shun the Latin Grammys one year and it was due to them not liking this. They said the whole thing was set up by, for, and voted on the Estefans - they run the show completely.

Sure I agree with most of what you say. But this doesn't really cost them anything, they get more out of it. I mean it's better for them to "do" something than not care at all, but it's really an ego and publicity boost for them. There's also so many people in so many parts of the world that need help, they just hopped on the current bandwagon. I'm sure in "quiet times" natural disaster wise they could've done the same thing about another situation, but didn't. Now that something's big and in the news, they come together. "all those artists who, at the time, did what they thought was best to address the problem." They are too far up the chain to really understand what's going on. I remember seeing Wycleef Jean (or whatever his name is) on the news, he flew down to Haiti right away to "help" out. HA! He sounded completly wiped out in the interview. Said he was going to come right back to the states because he could help out more there by getting the word out. What did he think he was going to do in Haiti, rap the destruction away? What a moron. If you go get ready to get your hands dirty. There's so many people on this planet that aren't rich, nor famous that help out people all the time, all while dealing with their own lives. No one cares about them Just a different opinion. Oh, to note - with all those singer, they couldn't come up with a new song?

If they really wanted to give, they didn't have to film anything. They very easily could take out a couple hundred thousand or even a million and quietly donate. The amount of publicity and fan base generated from this greatly outweighs the day or so spent on singing the song. Not saying they are only doing it for their own benefit, but it is the reality of it.
