I'm gonna try one last time.

My potential future home, Bolivia, is apparently in turmoil now, at least in Sucre, due to Evo's constitutional assembly to rewrite it. Clashes in Sucre, where the assembly met- largely boycotted by the opposition - a cop got "lynched", police stations torched, and the police have abandoned the streets.

Apparently outside of La Paz, Evo's power base, he is NOT beloved. :-)

Are we gonna see another in Bolivia's long string of presidents not completing their terms of office?

more importantly, is slguy only writing for his own amusement in the Bolivia forum?

I think so!

I've heard good things about Bolivia and would like to see it one day, but don't really know a thing about it. Good luck!

"My potential future home, Bolivia,"

Tell me more please, I know we have similar taste... I am planning a two years switch of the whole family to a sailboat, again... but tell me more about Bolivia.

"I am a citizen of the most beautiful nation on earth. A nation whose laws are harsh yet simple, a nation that never cheats, which is immense and without borders, where life is lived in the present."

Robi, I used to travel to Bolivia a lot. La Paz, Trinidad, Cochabamba, Santa Cruz and once stranded in the Amazon Benni region. I always enjoyed Santa Cruz. It didn't feel like Bolivia. La Paz was not a favorite. Altitude hurt. People look at you like you are from another planet. Terrible food. Santa Cruz had a good nightlife, nice people and ok food. Santa Cruz felt like another country from the rest of Bolivia. I don't think I could live there.
