Bolivia is the best

I had the pleasure of working in La Paz for eight months last year. What a fantastic country. The people were friendly and there was no lack of things to do. Highlights of my time there were 1. Cycling the Worlds Most Dangerous Road to Coroico 2. Climbing Huayna Potosi 3. Carnaval in Oruro 4. Chalalan Lodge in the Bolivian Amazon and 5 Isla del Sol. I am living in Morocco now but want to return to Bolivia again soon.

Hi Bolivia Board,
Ex pat living in Colombia many years. I used to travel to Bolivia all the time for business. I would primarily end up in La Paz and Santa Cruz. Not a big fan of La Paz but I have to say Santa Cruz is one of my favorite cities in Latin America. Was years ago so maybe it was youth and the times but I had a blast in Santa Cruz. Once ended up stranded in the Jungle an hours helicopter ride from Trinidad. Long story but the one I remember of all my travels around South America. Also remember some scary flights from La Paz to Santa Cruz. Bolivian people were great. My brother also lived a year in Tarija back in 1988. Anyway, that my two bits for the Bolivian board. Would enjoy going back someday.

hello,
The saltlake (and its surrounding dessert/canyons/lakes) is my number one spot for bolivia at this point. Chilling in Chapare is a good second, just never get bored of relaxing in the jungle. Beni comes at number three (swimming with the sweet water dolphins, and piranhas...). Number four was a nice trip to Totoro with incallajta (inca ruins) on the way, mostly unvisited by tourists so you have the spot for your self.
This year i'm going for two months again, apart from a trip to the pantanal in brazil, i'm hoping to see the rest of bolivia's highlights (before moving there). Can't wait...
